About The Show

So much happened before Dorothy dropped in.

WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story that USA Today cheers is “a complete triumph! An original musical that will make you laugh, cry, and think.”

Popejoy Hall is that magical place. From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

 Special Parking Information

Please note: during the Johnson Center renovation, UNM will close the entrance at Stanford Drive before Popejoy performances. Cars may enter at Princeton or Yale, but those entering at Yale will not be permitted to turn left into the parking structure. The best entrance for those using the Cornell Parking Structure will be the new campus entrance at Princeton Drive.

Attendants will no longer accept payment at the entrance to the structure. Once you’ve parked, note your parking stall number. Go to a pay station. There are two on every level. Enter your stall number and your payment. To pay in cash, go to the third level where there are two cash machines. However, those machines do not dispense change. Be sure to bring exact change for your $7.00 parking fee.

Parking is still fast, easy and FREE in our UNM Special Events Lot.

  1. Park in our Special Event Lot (University G Lot) north of Lomas on University.
  2. Step onto one of the Special Event shuttle buses and ride in climate-controlled comfort to the show.

Buses run continuously beginning 90-120 minutes before the show, drop you off at Popejoy Hall and return you to the shuttle lot up to an hour after the show.

Should you have an emergency, buses are available any time during the show to take you back to your car.

All of our shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible.

Oversized vehicles — anything over 6’8” — can not be accommodated inside the parking structure. Please park your vehicle in the G Lot and use the free shuttle. If you are attending the 10/18 matinee performance, please park at UNM South Lot as your Special Events Shuttle.
